The Blasdell Village Board plans to apply for $4,000 in grant money from the state Justice Court Assistance Program. If received, the money would go toward the purchase of an intercom system, a prisoner bench, updated software and a water cooler, Village Administrator Janet Plarr said.
Previous grant money received through the program enabled the village to purchase the court’s current security system and cameras.
The program was established by the State Legislature to help towns and villages in the operation of their courts. The maximum grant allowed is $30,000 and does not require matching funds from the municipality.
Connie D. Miner and Co. was authorized to submit the grant application on behalf of the Blasdell Justice Court.
