A public hearing will be held Monday about the use of recreational field vehicles as the board prepares to amend a local law about noise pollution.
Several citizens have raised concerns about noisy snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles buzzing through fields and behind homes on Grand Island during all hours of the day and night. When the Board looked to the Town Code for guidance on how to deal with the situation, it found legislation pertaining to the problem had been omitted during the code’s recent overhaul. The town is seeking input as to how to craft rules dealing with the problem.
Residents are welcome to speak at the beginning of the board’s regular meeting at 8 p.m. in Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.
