Grand Islanders will kick off the holiday season Saturday with the Light Up the Boulevard Electric Parade and Festival, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a “1k Rudolph Fun Run” beginning at 1970 Grand Island Boulevard. After the run, a parade with brightly-lit floats and dancers will travel down Grand Island Boulevard from Staley Road to Baseline Road. After the parade, Santa will arrive on the Town Commons for a tree lighting and Holiday Festival featuring caroling, live music and vendors. The festival will continue until 9 p.m.

• The Grand Island Town Board will meet for workshop meetings Monday at 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and for its regular meeting Monday at 8 p.m. All meetings take place in Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.
• The Grand Island Central School District Board of Education will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. for its regular meeting in the Middle School Little Theater, 1100 Ransom Road.
