Computer users at the Golden Age Center and in Grand Island’s Parks and Recreation Department will be glad to hear that the Town Board voted to bump up Internet speeds at the Nike Base at an additional cost of $70 per month.
“We’ve had numerous complaints, so we’ve decided to try this for a couple of months and see what happens,” said Councilman Gary Roesch.
The board is hoping the faster speeds will alleviate problems experienced by users without having to add additional lines.
Also Monday night, the Town Board:
• Approved a $113,000 drainage project that would reconstruct three drainage systems to address draining problems on Elmwood, Fix and East Park roads.
• Approved a site plan for a proposed motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle sales and service business at 1979 Grand Island Blvd.
