The Grand Island Town Board tabled a motion Monday night to approve an extension of the sewer system to the proposed Starpointe development project on the island as it awaits environmental review approval.
Israel-based developer Christ Gaetanos recently bought the 284-acre property that was once slated for major development in the 1990s but has languished since then. The land is bordered by the Thruway and Love, Baseline and Staley Roads. The development calls for several different types of residential dwellings as well as skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
No one spoke against the sewer extension at a public hearing Monday.
