The Grand Island Fire Company will hold its annual fire prevention open house at fire headquarters, 2275 Baseline Road, from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10, according to Chief Kevin Koch.

Firefighting and emergency medical equipment will be on display and a “live fire” demonstration will be staged to show visitors how fast and hot a blaze can develop in a household. The company’s Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a basket raffle during the open house.
