BATAVIA – Two major expansion projects received tax incentives from the Genesee County Economic Development Center during its meeting Thursday.
Mega Properties, a Canadian company that makes thermoelectric coolers, plans a 20,000 -quare-foot addition, nearly doubling the size of its plant in the Gateway Corporate Park in the Town of Batavia. The $775,000 new construction will add 5.5 workers. The corporate owner of Koolatron will receive tax abatements in school, sales and mortgage levies.
Premiere Credit wants $400,000 in equipment for its collection call center in a former factory in the city. It would add 25 workers with its third expansion in three years. Sales taxes on new equipment would be waived. The expansion will boost employment to 150.
