A Medina woman was killed and four other people injured in a two-car crash Saturday night in the Genesee County community of Carlton.
Ashley D. Morehouse was killed in the crash that occurred at about 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Orchard River Road and Waterport Road, deputies reported.
She was operating a sedan traveling west on Oak Orchard River Road when she failed to stop for the stop sign at Waterport Road, deputies said. When her car entered the intersection, it was struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Lorrie D. Kuhns of Batavia.
Morehouse was pronounced dead at the scene. A front seat passenger in her vehicle, Gary L. Weese, 40, of Batavia was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Morehouse’s 4-year-old son, Dominic Amrhein, was taken by ambulance to Strong. The child was a rear seat passenger in an approved safety seat.
Kuhns and her husband, Thomas, were taken by ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center.
Although the investigation is continuing, it appears that sun glare may have been a contributing factor, deputies said.
