BATAVIA – L. Matthew Landers will become Genesee County’s assistant county manager as of Feb. 1, succeeding Frank V. Ciaccia, who held the post for two decades.
Landers has been deputy county treasurer for 10 years and topped a list of 61 applicants to gain the new job. The Batavia resident will have a raise in pay of $8,000 to the administrative role that pays $81,000.
Ciaccia has held the office part-time since his mid-2012 retirement. He also heads the county’s STOP-DWI program.
Because of his administrative duties, Landers will be required to give up his role as chairman of the city’s Republican Committee, which he assumed last year.
Meanwhile, County Treasurer Scott D. German has appointed James B. Stack, a town of Batavia resident, as his new deputy. Stack is an operations supervisor for a Buffalo management company.
