If you’ve got plants outside, you might want to cover them up.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for some parts of the region during the overnight hours.
Tony Ansuini, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Buffalo, said vulnerable areas could include the western Southern Tier, Wyoming County and southern Erie County, with overnight temperatures projected to be in the low to mid 30s. The frost warning extends from 2 to 8 a.m, Sunday, Ansuini said.
Early gardeners are urged to take note.
“For anybody who has planted already, they need to get out there and cover the plants,” Ansuini said. “They need to make sure anything they want to keep is protected.”
The forecast for the next few days includes temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s on Sunday. Monday may be in the mid to upper 60s.
