NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man who called for an ambulance Friday night because he was “too drunk to walk home“ got a free ride to jail, police said.

Officers summoned to the 1900 block of Pine Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. met an ambulance crew dealing with Javon Evans, 34, who lives blocks away on Pine, police said. Evans, police added, told them he called for an ambulance “so he could be admitted to the hospital ... because he was too drunk to walk home.”

When police advised the suspect ambulances “are not a form of taxi service,” Evans became belligerent and ended up being charged with disorderly conduct, police said.
