An electronic recycling event will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the General Motors plant, 2995 River Road, Town of Tonawanda.

In addition to bringing old electronic items for recycling, participants can make a reservation to dispose of fluorescent tube light bulbs.

“Computers, cell phones, televisions and other kinds of electronic devices have recyclable materials in them, and we all need to act together to protect our environment by taking care that these materials are put back into use and not dumped in a landfill or incinerated,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz.

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning is sponsoring the event, with funding from the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant.

Call 858-4715 to make a reservation to bring fluorescent tube lights.
