The state’s myriad campaign finance rules and regulations can be tricky to traverse.
To bridge most people’s gaps in knowledge, the state will be offering a free seminar to provide candidates, treasurers and political organizations with the information they will need to comply with the state’s campaign finance disclosure requirements.
Conducted by staff from the state Board of Elections’ Enforcement Counsel’s Office and the Board’s Campaign Finance Unit, the seminar is set for 9 a.m. to noon May 13. The event will be held in the auditorium of the downtown branch of th Buffalo & Erie County Public Library at Clinton and Ellicott streets.
Beginning in early April, those interested in attendeding the seminar may go online to www.elections.ny.gov and register or check for alternative dates and locations for similar seminars across the state.
The seminar also will focus on rule changes that affect local filers.
