Local snowmobile owners are being urged to register their vehicles in Erie County to avoid the registration rush and help keep a portion of those fees in local coffers, instead of it all going to Albany.
County Clerk Christopher L. Jacobs said snowmobile owners can achieve both aims by mailing in their snowmobile registrations using the signature green “Renew Local” envelope or by registering in person at any of the Erie County Auto Bureaus. For locations, visit the clerk’s webpage online.
Those who are members of a snowmobile club will be charged only $45 on their registration. That’s a $55 savings on the $100 registration fee that is charged to those without a snowmobile club membership.
