The Erie County Legislature will hold hearings on County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz’s 2014 budget proposal beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Legislature Chambers on the fourth floor of Old County Hall, 92 Franklin St.
The lawmakers’ hearing will begin with a presentation of the $1.39 billion budget plan by the county’s Office of Budget and Management. Testimony on the budget plan from various county department heads – beginning with officials from the Board of Elections, the Comptroller’s Office and the County Executive’s Office – will follow.
The hearings will resume at 9 a.m. next Wednesday and again at 9 a.m. Nov. 23. If needed, the Legislature has reserved Nov. 25 for additional hearings or callbacks with department heads.
A hearing for the general public to comment on 2014 budget plan has been set for 5 p.m. Nov. 25. All hearings will be held in the Legislature Chambers.
Lawmakers are scheduled to adopt a final budget for 2014 on Dec. 3.
