Erie County Sheriff’s Lt. Cesar A. Botello has been promoted to the rank of captain in the Jail Management Division, Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced Tuesday.
Botello, whose family emigrated from the Dominican Republic, grew up in New York City and came here to attend the University at Buffalo. After joining the Sheriff’s Office in 1998, he began working in the Erie County Holding Center.
He was promoted to sergeant in 2002 and held that rank for nearly a decade. As a lieutenant, he was the dayside watch commander at the Holding Center.
