Pet owners in Erie County will have three opportunities in September to get free rabies vaccinations for their dogs, cats and ferrets.

The rabies clinics will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on successive Wednesdays and will be conducted by the county Department of Health in association with the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society and the SPCA Serving Erie County.

“It is the law that all dogs and cats in Erie County get vaccinated against rabies and this program is a great, free way for all citizens to follow the law,” said County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz, in a news release.

The clinics are scheduled for Sept. 4 at the Town of Tonawanda Highway Garage, 450 Woodward Ave.; Sept. 11 at the Erie County Fire Training Academy, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga; and Sept. 18 in the Noonan Center Maintenance Garage at Erie Community College North Campus, 6205 Main St., Amherst.
