Heather Filipowicz is leaving her post as executive director of the Western New York Women’s Foundation, effective Nov. 30, it was announced.
Filipowicz, who held the job for the past two years, is moving to Tampa, Fla., with her husband, who will start a new job in the Tampa area.
“Heather successfully led the foundation through its transition from a fund under the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County and the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo to an independent foundation,” said Alice Jacobs, chairwoman. “We are grateful for her leadership these past two years and look to continue our growth as we seek a new executive director.”
The foundation’s mission is to remove roadblocks and provide opportunities for women and girls to become self-sufficient.
