Researchers at the University at Buffalo and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh have received a second five-year federal grant for a collaborative project that is applying universal design and computer technology to help people with disabilities use public transportation.

The $4.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research extends a previous five-year grant to the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Accessible Public Transportation at Carnegie Mellon and UB.
