A judge this week sentenced an 81-year-old Blasdell man to seven years in prison for sex crimes against two girls.
David Palmer, of Milestrip Road, had pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree criminal sexual act.
The girls were younger than 13 years old at the time of the crimes, according to Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
The crimes happened more than five years ago before Palmer suffered a stroke.
He faced a maximum prison term of 15 years.
The mother of the victims spoke at Monday’s sentencing, telling Erie County Judge Kenneth F. Case that her older daughter forgives Palmer but does not forget what he did to her.
The judge sentenced Palmer to 3½ years in prison on each charge and ordered the sentences to run consecutively.
Assistant District Attorney Peter J. Marche said the attacks occurred in Palmer’s home.
