Buffalo police said they have made an arrest in the shooting of a man outside the Old Pink bar early this morning.
Deverick Petty, 20, of Andover Avenue in Buffalo, was charged with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police said that Petty shot at a man who was talking to his girlfriend outside an apartment on Allen Street, but one of the bullets he fired struck a 30-year-old man outside the Old Pink bar.
The wounded man, an innocent bystander, was in critical condition this afternoon, police said.
“We believe there was a domestic down the street, and he was struck by a stray bullet,” Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda said.
The shooting occurred just before 2:30 a.m. outside the Old Pink bar at 223 Allen St., police said.
Police at 8:30 a.m. took a man and woman out of the Buckingham Apartment Building at 87 Mariner, across the street from the bar. The two were led out separately in handcuffs and placed in patrol vehicles.
The wounded man was taken to surgery this morning at Erie County Medical Center, police said.
