Two armed men wearing masks robbed the Family Dollar store at 1770 Broadway around 9 p.m. Monday, Buffalo police reported.

One man placed a small black handgun to the back of an employee’s head while the other threatened another employee with a knife and demanded money from the register, police said. The knife-wielding robber reportedly told the employee, “ Tony, I’m messed up and it’s the holidays.”

The robbers fled eastbound from the parking lot with an undetermined amount of cash. Video surveillance footage of the robbery was collected by police.
