Fillmore-Leroy neighborhood residents and business owners get their chance tonight to see what changes are in store for the Central Park Plaza.
LPCiminelli, the developer, will showcase its design plans for a redeveloped plaza at 6 p.m. in School 61, 453 Leroy Ave.
LPCiminelli bought the 27-acre plaza, off Amherst Street and walking distance from the Amherst Metro Rail station, last year and plans to transform it into a residential/commercial project.
The developer has demolished the plaza’s remaining structures and cleared the sprawling site. The project is estimated to cost about $30 million.
The Central Park Plaza’s former out-of-town owner had neglected the derelict property, and over the years the site began to deteriorate. The city forced him to sell it.
