Occupants of two vehicles apparently were firing shots at each other late Sunday night in the Broadway-Jefferson area, and at least one of the weapons was a 12-gauge shotgun, Buffalo police reported Monday.

Witnesses told Central District police that the shots rang out at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Broadway and Pratt Street.

Officers responding to the scene found spent casings, a rear car window blown out and a loaded shotgun located near an alleyway, but the suspects had fled from the scene.
