Buffalo firefighters rushed to a home on Humboldt Parkway Saturday night following reports of a fire with people trapped inside.
Residents of the 2½-story house at 866 Humboldt Parkway left the building safely, Division Fire Chief John Mogavero said. Firefighters arrived at the scene about 6:30 p.m.
The blaze started in a second-floor bedroom and, when firefighters from Engine 33 arrived on the scene, they saw heavy smoke on the second floor and residents leaving. Firefighters escorted one man on the first floor out of the building.
Total damage was estimated at $45,000. The cause remains under investigation.
