The case against an 83-year-old Town of Tonawanda woman charged July 7 in the slaying of her 89-year-old husband was moved Thursday from Town Court to a grand jury.
Phyllis Eson faces a murder charge in the beating death of Norman Eson. The case unfolded after the landlord of their home, in the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue, summoned police on July 6 to check on the residence.
When they arrived, police said, Phyllis Eson opened the door and had blood on her clothes. The body of her husband was found on the floor, where he had been dead for several hours. An autopsy determined he died from trauma due to blunt-force blows to the head.
