LOCKPORT - A North Carolina man accused of fatally shooting a Niagara Falls woman in late September pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and weapons possession charges at his arraignment today in Niagara County Court.

Bail for Richard H. Moore, 50, of Winston-Salem, N.C., was set at $300,000 cash or $600,000 property by Judge Matthew J. Murphy III.

In arguing for a lower bail amount for his client, Assistant Public Defender Matthew P. Pynn said Moore does not have a criminal record and has worked as a certified nursing assistant.

Moore was indicted by a Niagara County grand jury in the Sept. 28 killing of Tijuana Davis, 39, of North Avenue.

Moore’s girlfriend, Cammesoa M. Williams, also of Winston-Salem, was originally charged with murder but has been indicted on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Williams has not yet been arraigned.

A pre-trial conference for Moore was set for Jan. 27.
