LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man suspected in a string of residential burglaries in Newfane was arraigned on a separate burglary charge Monday in Niagara County Court.
Robert A. Woodruff, 29, of 20th Street, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment before Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III following an indictment by a Niagara County grand jury.
Assistant District Attorney Joseph A. Scalzo said the incident leading to this charge happened after Woodruff was released from incarceration in May following a 2010 conviction for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Woodruff is a suspect in at least eight burglaries in Newfane in addition to this one, Scalzo said.
The judge also issued an order of protection barring contact between Woodruff and the victim and an eyewitness.
