To honor the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion and to honor the World War II members of local America Legion posts, Legionnaires will be selling copies Saturday of a poster entitled “The Great Crusade ... A Tribute to the Generation That Saved the World.”
The poster was designed by Western New Yorker Ken Wojcieszek. About 150 copies of it will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at tables set up inside the McKinley, Galleria, Boulevard and Eastern Hills malls.
The 24-inch by 36 inch posters will sell for $10 each, and proceeds will benefit local legion posts. The poster is also available through the website www.babyboomerstore.com. Online sales will benefit the Honor Flight program which flys WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the WWII Memorial there.
