Keeping children safe will be the focus as New Yorkers Against Gun Violence holds a community forum at 7 p.m. June 16 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 651 Washington St.

“More needs to be done to keep all New Yorkers – especially our children – safe from gun violence,” says Leah Gunn Barrett, executive director of NYAGV, who will speak at the event.

Topics will include child access prevention, the proposed Nicholas’ Law regarding safe storage of weapons, the New York SAFE Act and other gun safety measures. The forum is free and open to the public.
