Threats to public officials will be the topic of an FBI community relations training seminar at Clarence Town Hall on Thursday, Town Supervisor David Hartzell Jr. announced.

The supervisor said the free seminar, open only to local officials and their staff workers, will involve talks by officials of federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the vulnerabilities of public officials and workers to ricin and anthrax threats and the way to identify and handle suspicious mail or delivered items.

Talks will also be conducted about shooter situations and responses.

The seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and will conclude at noon.
