Obtaining an E-ZPass should now be as easy as its name suggests.
E-ZPass tags have become available for purchase in Western New York at area Tops Markets and Wegmans locations, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced Monday.
The tags allow drivers to use E-ZPass lanes at all state Thruway toll booths, and they are also recognized in 14 other states.
The tags have a $25 value and are active upon purchase. The first $15 is immediately available for toll use. The remaining $10 will become available after the tag is registered online or by telephone. Drivers using E-ZPass save 5 percent on all state Thruway tolls.
E-ZPass can also be obtained at city, county and town clerks’ offices, AAA outlets and some convenience stores and gas stations.
