TREE-PLANTING PROGRAM: The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks will begin accepting orders for its 2013 fall street tree-planting program on Monday through Oct. 11 in its office in the Norman Keller Building, 500 Wheatfield St. The cost of each tree is $50. Each planting site must be approved by parks division staff prior to planting.
SATELLITE OFFICE HOURS: The district office of State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, will hold special satellite office hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Hamburg Town Hall, S6100 S. Park Ave.; Tuesday the Kenmore Municipal Building, 2919 Delaware Ave.; and Wednesday in Grand Island Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road. IMAGINE LECTURE SERIES: David W. Ewing, dean of arts and sciences at Canisius College, will conduct the lecture series “Imagine Exploring Nature: Celebrating Milestones of Science and Imagination,” at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday next to Fables Cafe in the Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, following a noon Smithsonian video, “The Great Lakes and New York.”
