Friends of Helene Lumia have rallied to raise money at a benefit Sunday, April 6, to help with expenses from a spinal cord injury that left her a quadriplegic.

Lumia, who graduated from Alfred State College with an art degree before her injury last summer, is now living at home with her family in Clarence. Proceeds from the benefit at Clarence High School will help cover medical costs and construction at the house to help her live more comfortably.

The benefit and party runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and will include pizza, dessert and a silent auction.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $20. To make a donation or get information, call Floss Insurance at 688-5115.
