City of Tonawanda
Residents will begin receiving letters later this week explaining the city’s new recycling program, which includes replacing the current 10-gallon bins with 65-gallon totes, Mayor Rick Davis said.
The new totes are black, like the city’s garbage totes, but with a green lid. Delivery begins June 23.
The city purchased about 7,000 totes from Rehrig Pacific, a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer, and each comes has a 10-year guarantee, the mayor said.
Recycling pickup will switch from weekly to biweekly, beginning July 14.
