City of Tonawanda

Tuesday marks the last Common Council meeting for three of its five members.

Blake Boyle lost a Democratic primary to Jackie A. Smilinich who went on to beat Republican Jonathan R. Juliano for the 2nd ward seat. Richard Slisz lost his 3rd ward seat to John J. Hall. And the 4th ward seat of Tyler Kossow, who did not run, will go to Jenna N. Koch.

Only Council President Carleton R. Zeisz, who was not up for reelection, and 1st ward Councilman Charles Gilbert will remain on the council next year. Tuesday is also the last Common Council meeting for Mayor Ron Pilozzi, who lost a reelection bid to Democrat Rick Davis.

The Council will consider a resolution allowing the installation of red light traffic cameras when it meets at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 200 Niagara St. There will be an informal session at 6 p.m. and then another following the formal meeting at about 7:30 p.m.

• The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas performs its annual Christmas concert of famous holiday works featuring vocalist Henry Pendleton tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster Street, North Tonawanda. Tickets are $12 for adults or $8 for children under 12 at the Riviera box office. A pre-concert organ performance on the Riviera’s Mighty Wurlitzer begins at 7 p.m.

• Staff from State Sen. Mark Grisanti’s office will hold satellite office hours Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in City Hall.
