A pet dog was killed this morning in a City of Tonawanda house fire.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 8:54 a.m. at 53 Coronet Drive, a wood-frame, single-family ranch-style structure. The occupants were able to escape from the house and no other injuries were reported, a city fire dispatcher said.
The fire is estimated to have caused more than $100,000 in damage to the house and its contents. A cause for the fire has not yet been determined. Fire officials are still investigating.
The City of Tonawanda Fire Department was assisted by the North Tonawanda Fire Department, the Brighton Volunteer Fire Company and the Grand Island Volunteer Fire Company.
