Cheektowaga police are asking for the public’s help in finding the shooter who fired several shots toward a teenager that instead struck a parked vehicle and a home in the town’s Winkler-Loxley-Peach Tree area over the weekend.
At about 1:20 a.m. Saturday, police received several calls of shots fired in the area of Peach Tree and Loxley roads. Responding officers found .45-caliber shell casings, a parked vehicle that had been hit and several bullet holes in the siding of a Winkler Road home.
A 17-year-old male at the scene told officers he had been walking down Peach Tree when a dark-colored SUV approached him. As he turned to run away, someone started firing shots. The teenager ran through some yards and escaped without being struck, he told officers.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Cheektowaga police at 686-3505. People also can reach the anonymous-tip text line, at 847411 (TIP411), type in the code CPDNY and then type their message.
