The new year will bring a “new” principal to Cheektowaga Central High School.
Scott R. Zipp, who’s currently assistant principal, was appointed Tuesday night to succeed Susan L. Cain, who’s retiring. The appointment, effective in January, was unanimously approved following a two-hour executive session by the Cheektowaga Central School Board.
Zipp’s annual salary will be $102,500, according to School Superintendent Dennis Kane.
Cain has been with Cheektowaga Central since 1997, when she was hired as an elementary school teacher. She was named assistant principal at East Elementary in 2003, then high school principal in 2007.
Meanwhile, Zipp was hired as a high school biology teacher in 1998, then spent a couple of years as a teacher on special assignment – working in administrative support, before he was named assistant principal in 2009.
