MAYVILLE – The Appellate Division of New York State Supreme Court has received a motion to change the location for the murder trial of Anthony Taglianetti II.

A clerk in the Rochester based court confirmed Friday that the motion was filed by defense attorney Nathaniel Barone.

Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley would not comment on the motion. He said the process of selecting a jury is continuing.

Taglianetti is charged with second-degree murder in the death of former Clymer School Superintendent Keith Reed Jr.

Jury selection has been a slow process, with each potential juror being questioned in a private room before both legal teams and Judge John Ward. The selection differs from an open court process, where potential jurors are questioned in the courtroom.

No date has been set to hear the motion to change the venue for the trial.
