SILVER CREEK – A public hearing on the proposed budget for Silver Creek Central School was held Tuesday in the high school library.
The proposed budget is $22,447,044. The spending plan is within the tax cap amount. The proposed tax rate in the town of Hanover would be $17.97 per $1,000 of assessed value. It is a 2.1 percent increase on the full value of property.
The rate is about 37 cents higher than the current rate. A home assessed at $60,000 in the town of Hanover would see a tax increase of about $22.20.
Town of Sheridan residents can expect about a 53 cent increase in their rate.
In addition to the budget, voters will be asked to decide on spending $108,987 for a school bus and cast ballots for two school board members. Matt Bogosian and Steve Booth are running unopposed for re-election to the board.
Voting will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the school. Qualified voters need to be 18 years old or older and reside in the district.
