SILVER CREEK -- A lockdown and search for drugs by local police agencies found Silver Creek schools to be drug-free, School Superintendent Daniel Ljiljanisch said Thursday. He said state and local police agencies came into the buildings on Tuesday.

Parents were notified by the emergency phone system that there would be a lockdown drill at the school. The superintendent said that while students were contained in classrooms, police came in to look for drugs. “I am pleased that the results were negative,” Ljiljanisch said.

While the students waited with teachers, procedures in the event of an emergency were reviewed with all students. All grades were included in the process.
