PANAMA – The popular Panama Rocks Scenic Park attraction in southern Chautauqua County will open to the public Saturday.

Jonathan and Holly Weston will move back to Chautauqua County to take over management of the park from Jonathan’s parents, Craig and Sandi Weston, who have operated it for the last 34 years.

“Chautauqua County is a wonderful place, the only place we want to live, and Panama Rocks is one of its hidden treasures,” said Jonathan Weston, who formerly worked in Congress.

The park first opened in 1885 and emerged as a popular retreat for honeymooners in the early 1900s, Weston said.

“We feel a strong responsibility to protect the amazing nature and history here while ensuring that the park’s legacy is available for many more generations to come together,” Holly Weston said.
