DUNKIRK – Public Works Director Tony Gugino said Monday that filling potholes on damaged city streets has just started because the city has been able to get asphalt for only the past week.
Gugino said his department will work on two large projects on East Seventh Street and Washington Street. Both streets will have new water lines, paving and reconstruction.
Chairwoman Stacy Szukala of the Dunkirk Public Works Committee said she also is concerned with extra items left at the curb on garbage pick-up days. If items are not to be picked up residents should find a sticker with red and black lettering. Calendars for the schedule of recycling and household pick up are available at the city clerk’s office.
Szukala announced that the annual city clean-up day with senior students from Dunkirk High School will be held June 25.
