BEMUS POINT – Authorities have released the name of a Pennsylvania man who died after his boat capsized during rough weather Friday night on Chautauqua Lake.

State police said 69-year-old Robert Knell of Duke City, Pa., died Saturday morning from cardiac arrest. He was fishing with Roy Barclay, 65, also of Derrick City, under the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over the lake when high winds and waves overturned their small boat.

Troopers said bystanders used a boat to rescue both men and bring them to the shore in the town of Ellery, where an ambulance took them to WCA Hospital in Jamestown.

Barclay was treated and released.

Troopers said both men were wearing life jackets.
