MAYVILLE – Opening statements in the trial of Anthony Taglianetti are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in State Supreme Court in the Gerace Office Building in Mayville.
Chautauqua County Commissioner of Jurors Kathleen Krauza announced Thursday that 12 jurors and four alternates have been seated for the murder in the second degree trial. Taglianetti of Virginia is accused in the death of Keith Reed a former school superintendent whose body was found near his Clymer home last year.
Defense Attorney Nathanial Barone filed for a change of venue, but the change was denied by the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court.
Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley will be the main prosecutor in the case.
The charge against Taglianetti alleges that he drove from Virginia to Chautauqua County and sought out Reed after he presumed Reed was communicating with his wife.
