A state appeals court judge on Monday rejected a motion to delay the Chautauqua County murder trial of Anthony R. Taglianetti in the slaying of Clymer School Superintendent Keith L. Reed Jr.
Appellate Division Justice Erin M. Peradotto denied the motion by Chautauqua County Public Defender Nathaniel Barone II, Taglianetti’s attorney, to stay the trial pending a decision on a separate motion to move the proceedings to a court in another county.
The judge made the decision after reviewing arguments from Barone and Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley in Buffalo.
Jury selection began Sept. 19 in Mayville. During jury selection, Barone indicated the process was going slow because most of the prospective jurors knew about the case.
