LITTLE VALLEY – Seven men who graduated from the 59th session of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Academy this week are now certified to work as a police officer or sheriff’s deputy in the state, Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb said Friday.

The graduates are Denver Boberg, West Valley; Jeremiah Bova, Salamanca; Dalton Kashmer, South Dayton; Richard Lundberg Jr. and Adam McAdoo, both of Randolph; Christopher Pavlock, Olean; and James Yansick, Machias.

Since last August, the seven studied topics including emergency vehicle operation, weapons qualifications, counterterrorism, mental health, penal law and vehicle and traffic law. All received college credits from Jamestown Community College, which has a working agreement with sheriff’s offices of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Allegany counties.
