OLEAN – Low-income preschoolers in Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties are targeted under a $1,651,138 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The ptreschool program, which serves 288 children ages 3 to 4, maintains current staffing and pay levels through June. The money also targets the Head Start health progra,
“This is going to help us provide Head Start and Early Head Start programming through the rest of the school year,” said Ira Katzenstein of Cattaraugus & Wyoming Project Head Start.
Funding for the program, which also comes from school districts, operates out of seven classrooms throughout the two-county area.
