An 18-year-old West Valley woman was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash that left the driver of the other vehicle seriously injured, Cattaraugus County sheriff’s officials said.

Anna Schroeder was pronounced dead at the scene, on Route 219 in the Town of Ashford, following the crash that occurred at about 9:35 a.m. Sunday.

She was driving a northbound vehicle that crossed over the center line, into the path of a southbound pickup truck operated by James Heidrich of Niagara Falls, authorities said. He was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition Monday.

Two passengers in the pickup truck were treated and released from ECMC.

Sheriff’s investigators still are trying to determine the cause of the accident.
